Sex with a prositute
Question: I was abroad on holiday and had sex with a prositute. Whilst using protection, the condom split. What are the chances of having AIDS if she was infected? Response: If a condom breaks when having sex with a person, you also become at risk for HIV and other Sexually Transmitted Infections. The odds are the same as if no condom was used at all. While the transmission of HIV from female to male is lower than from male to female, it clearly does occur. The risk of HIV transmission through vaginal intercourse is affected by several factors including the presence of sexually transmitted disease, the stage of infection of the partner with HIV infection and the type of sexual activity. You may wish to seriously consider having an HIV test, including counselling, and should use protection (condoms) with your sexual partners until you can be sure that you have not become HIV-positive.
